Old Friends, New Sins
Show entry
Money runs out, and the plot starts there. Old Friends, New Sins stars Dasha Vardosiva, a fictional AI character on Candy whose profile lists her age as 24. It is rare in this catalogue for anyone's motive to be written down so plainly, and rarer still for the plan to fail in an interesting way.
A bankruptcy and a backup plan
Dasha lives well, and she lives well on her boyfriend's money. Then he goes bankrupt. Her reaction is not grief, or loyalty, but logistics: she turns her attention to his best friend, on the assumption that he can be won over like everyone else.
He cannot, or at least he does not chase. The synopsis presents his refusal as what flips the power between them, and it says that she is the one who ends up drawn into a secret surrender. So the person who came to acquire someone gets acquired, more or less. That is a tidy reversal and the best thing the premise has going for it. Everyone involved is an adult.
Cost of the whole series
Five episodes, 2 free, 3 paid. Each paid episode is 12 tokens, and all of them together come to 36 tokens.
Episode 1 is listed at 83 seconds, which is on the long side for this shelf and suggests some room for setting up the money trouble. The other running times are not on file, and we will not estimate them.
The free part has a clear job here. A reversal story only pays off if you first believe the person in charge is really in charge, so the question is whether Dasha is convincing in her confidence. If she is, the tokens are easier to justify. If not, the turn has nothing to overturn.
| Show | Lead on file | Episodes | Free | Tokens per paid episode | Tokens for the paid part | |

How far the free episodes should go
With no episode list to consult, we are working from the synopsis alone.
The opening should establish her comfort, the bankruptcy and her choice of target. The friend's refusal may begin to show, as it is the engine of the whole thing, but we cannot tell you at what point the balance actually moves. The surrender the synopsis mentions sounds like a destination and not a starting point, so we would expect it in the paid part. What the boyfriend knows, how long the secret lasts and how it ends are questions the source does not answer, and our entry will not answer them for it.
Dasha compared with Kenzie
We file Dasha near Kenzie Whitaker, who is a fictional AI character made by Candy, aged 20 on her profile. Both have a high opinion of themselves and expect the room to agree. Both tease as a matter of routine, and both are filed under entitled or spoiled in one form or another.
The motive is what separates them. Kenzie wants attention, and she has a camera to collect it with. Dasha wants what attention can buy. Kenzie is guarded and will not tell you why she chose you, while Dasha's reasons are close to the surface and financial. In this story she also loses control, and we have nothing suggesting that Kenzie ever does. There is more on her profile in the Dasha Vardosiva entry.
Our recommendation
Worth watching free, and we lean towards paying if you like seeing confident people get a lesson. The motive is unusually clear, and the man's refusal gives the story a shape that many setups in this genre never find. We would not rank the writing without having seen it, though the synopsis is doing a good job so far.
For another story about a plan that goes wrong in its own terms, take She Was Sent to Kill Me. For Kenzie herself, our first suggestion remains My Girlfriend’s Step-Sister Caught Me Staring, since this series does not include her at all.
Asked about this entry
Is Kenzie Whitaker in Old Friends, New Sins?
No. Dasha Vardosiva is the only name on the cast. We keep the series here because Dasha is filed near Kenzie as a character. The series index makes clear which entries feature Kenzie herself.
What does the series cost in tokens?
It costs 36 tokens to finish. Of the 5 episodes, 2 are free and 3 are paid at 12 tokens per paid episode. Beyond those token figures, we hold no pricing details and do not quote any.
Does the boyfriend find out about the secret?
The synopsis does not say. It mentions his bankruptcy and the secret itself but gives no ending, so this field stays blank in our records until there is something in the source to fill it.
